It's looking amazing. I continue to be impressed with the (well deserved) result you're getting for all the work you're obviously putting into it.

Getting the inside all taken care of. I did only paint the things that will be seen. Call me lazy. Lol

I love that it's warm out.
More parts painted. Belly pan, hatch, grill trims, and fuel door.
Take base went down real nice.

I'm still getting the hang of this clear. But things came out good. I have a few things to take care of once it all cures. But the more parts I get in this color the more I'm in love with it.

Did a bit of wet sanding in the hatch and on the hatch.

Did some test fitting of parts. To see how things will look. The color looks so different in the cool late afternoon sunlight.

Took a pic of the bay in direct sunlight yesterday before bagging it up for paint.

The X's with the tape over the bagging is a small insight into how you are always thinking of the bigger picture.
I used my 6 years of Mk2 hobbyist training to become a professional tech in 2006, but that makes you not want to work on your car as much.

Just read through whole thread. You are a jack of all trades lol..

I think you made a wise choice on the new color. It complements interior color nicely. I had a titian red jetta and I loved the color at night but not as much in the day.
It had like a purply tint to it.

      Anyway, great work so far!

While I'm waiting for the weather to warm up enough to paint. I figured I would clean up the areo rad support.

I just have to smooth out the filler primer and paint it semigloss black.

Why did you leave the raised holes on there?

Got some orange laminex and made some postal tails. Not quite the same orange. But not to bad.

I also found some Adidas that match. Lol

It's slow progress. Still waiting for it to warm up a bit so I can paint this thing. And start putting it together.
I did buy some wheels to refinish. Not sure what I'm going to do with them, but I had to have them as I have never seen them before.
      Momo Polaris.

      A little test polish.

It may be warm enough to paint next weekend.
Also. Managed to finish up one of the momos.

      Still no paint update.
But I have been collecting parts.
Got a whole bunch of gates clamps.

      And new hoses.

Got some real nice thermal wrap for the shift cables.

I picked up all the stuff I had chromed.
