BMW Releases 335is Details

Today BMW released the official details of the 2011 335is coupe and convertible. We were in Portugal driving the car today, and will have a full First Drive report next week. In the meantime, here are the major talking points...FULL STORY

I wonder how much faster the 335is will be compared to a regular 335i. Enough to justify the price difference?

And any details if the engine is different than the one in the 335i?

EDIT: @ 50K I think I'd fork over the extra money for a M3.

It's an uprated version of the N54. 320 hp, up to 370 lb-ft. 0-to60 in 5.0 seconds.

Additional cooling system upgrades, unique bodywork and interior. Optional DCT gearbox.

We'll have our full road test next week, but yeah, it's a pretty hot package for someone who doesn't want to pay for an M3.

Before I learned of the price, I would've said the same but $9-10k isn't an insignificant amount.

A lightly used M3 is another matter.

I want to see what the actual 0-60 times are because BMW said 5.5 for the old 335's but some people were getting them as low as 4.7-4.8 stock. With the extra power those things should be very fast.

The track at Estoril was damp and cool today. I pulled an actual 5.0 measured with our vBox. Our test cars also were not equipped with launch control, which may have shaved a tenth or two. We'll test one again when they arrive Stateside for sure.
