No I dont. But In this case I didn't need to do it. However I know someone who is gonna crack open the chip for me to found out all the mapping VWM has used and will compare with all the chip available out there on the market for the same application.

I didn't even think of that. You could help make factory-tuned Digi 1 16v chips. You are awesome and the enthusiast crowd thanks you

Lots of people have done that before me. I'm not doing anything new. Plus Digifant is an old technologie. Not so much interest anymore. All I want is found out for myself nothing more.

      Thanks.

Really? I had never heard of it (someone getting the VWMS coding out of a Limited). Digi may be old but lots of people still like it

Being that VWMS sold the 16vG60 as an option for the MK3 for 3 yrs, there should be alotta ECU's or chips out there. That being said, i'm sure they refined the map when they started with the mk3...and they in fact use the digi1 on the early ABF 16vG60's.

Really? Not adapted Digi3? They had a TPS and no AFM, it would have been a perfect ECU for boost.

The VWMS MK3 Limited Demo car was Digi1. I would assume they used a similar map in the Digi3.

VWMS built the different limiteds for different reasons. There could be many versions. VWMS was full of ideas back then and between 88-94 was VWMS golden years. They were pro's at tuning ECU's since they were using them since the early 80's. It would be nice to test a few of them back to back just to see the differences if there's even any.

I would love to have this engine. I'd stare at it all day. There should be "VWMS" or "Grp A" stamped all over the head & block as they pulled their stuff straight off he pallet. I would assume the build order would be etched on the block too.

My old engine from the car I built At least it's in a good home

Just to clear some things up. I'm the original owner of the engine and car it came from. The shell is a CDN 91 Golf. I took this car with me on a 7 month tour of Europe back in 2001 and found this engine by chance a few days before the end of the trip. Naturally I couldn't pass it up, so I bought it and installed it before shipping the car back to Canada.

Did a full resto that cost about 3x what I sold it for. Car had every rare euro goodie you can think of. Eibach flat strut bar, Digifiz, glass tilt/slide sunroof, Edition One interior, etc., etc.

Sold the car 2 years ago to a good friend who sold it to 16vgee60.

Enjoy it, it's a blast to drive. In a FWD chassis it would spin the wheels in 3rd gear if you floored it at 60km/h.

As did I before I went retarded with the resto work. The highlight having it for a week in Germany and enjoying it on the autobahn

I'll be doing the peeking for Raph, I've got a few 16vG60 files from different sources, as well as an alleged VWMS one. Should be interesting to see what a genuine 16vG60 file looks like inside .

Just so you guys know. You can send the file to VWMS (either Germany or UK) to verify if its real or not. They won't tell you any specifics but give you a yes or no answer.

Another route would be to contact Julien (Idorap) and see if he can get it verify and maybe even can access various files. He is the only person i know thats close to VWMS then any other person i know as his pop's worked for them back in the day and he's building a VWMS replica using original VWMS parts right down to a new wire harness (search his name for his build thread)

      @ marek
Did you notice anything different about the engine & charger compared to a standard 16 & G60 charger. I'm wondering if VWMS supplied the engines or did VW pull them off the line. i know their engines are stamped by them and don't have the usual stamp. They all usually have VWMS p/n to. Limiteds used special blocks. 3G? Limited runs Nickel plated pistons, special rings and a VWMS head spacer. (10.8:1 to 8.8:1), Special cams. I'm curious to know the cam spec's too
