Dude, thank you so much! It was something that we only anticipated about 50 downloads and the numbers have blown us away and that is super humbling. Thanks for listening!

I recently took a POV video of my car washing method on one of my client's cars that I had coated. This is what I do on the R32...just want to share.

I just noticed you have the Forge Intake. I wanted to pick it up as well, but it's not CARB Exempt.

I love the R, wash it regularly, have a clear bra that has done a great job....but I have to be honest and say that I've never and probably never will spend that much "detail" washing my car (and yes, I did watch the whole video). granted when I do wash the car usually once a week, it takes me about 30-40ish or so minutes.

Keep in mind that I own my own detailing business so having a clean car for me is a rolling billboard and pretty important. Also remember that the wash you watched was on a Jeep Grand Cherokee and SUVs usually take me about 40% more time than a car. That wash took me an hour and that included me explaining for demonstration's purpose.

So it sounds as if you and I spend about the same amount of time washing our cars. I wash the R32 once every 2-3 weeks depending on the level of filth...sometimes more. Being that it is coated with Opti-Coat Pro+, the ease of washing and level of protection are major benefits.

Ah yes, but I enjoy my sunny beaches and the PCH too much. Honestly I'll probably get the Forge intake and just switch in the stock airbox when smog time comes.

Haha. You can always visit from the next state over.

I do like the Forge. I have had VF, EVOMS, and now the Forge. I love the look of the EVOMS personally but enclosed filter is preferred because of the salt crap we get around here. It isn't that bad to swap it over in my opinion.

I don't think the SO would take too fondly to the change of scenery. We had this conversation the other day.

"Hey honey, California is such a pain in the ass to own a car. What would you think about moving to--"

      "No."

Ugh...almost a 5 hour drive. So tempting as I would love to have some circuit time but I don't think I can pull that off this year. Thanks for letting me know though. I will keep it in mind though.

I went to a dyno day on Sunday to a local 2wd DynoJet. I had gone to this dyno before and had some friends going so I figured why not. Unplugged the Haldex and drove it there from my house (fwd is actually fun). Last time I was on a dyno with the R32 was September 2013 and that was before the exhaust and Fluidampr so I was curious as to where I gained/lost power. So, 3.7 years and 45,000 miles later, there I was.

Here is the sheet from 2013 on a Dyno Dynamics fwd:

The 216.3 hp is the DynoJet conversion.

Here is the sheet from Sunday on a DynoJet fwd:

Now, the 2013 pulls were in 3rd gear (don't ask me why). Sunday's pull were in 3rd and 4th. The 4th gear are the longer and higher ones. So what this essentially tells me, is the the Milltek manifolds, catless downpipes, non-resonated catback, and 45,000 miles made me lose a good chunk of power. The Fluidampr I know brought back some but not a ton. Total loss with both was about 7 fwhp. That being said, with a set of cams, I wouldn't be too far off from others and I don't own this car to brag about big numbers. I was just curious.

Hmm. My car is completely stock, and it makes me wonder how much power I've lost...

Seriously. I don't pay huge attention to which dyno company is the heart-breaker vs big-faker, but 3.5% difference on completely different platforms is in the noise. I think.

I'm a big Car Talk fan.

I only went to see the before and after of the exhaust and Fluidampr. I knew the difference wouldn't be huge but wanted to see what in the powerband changed. That's all. The next time I'll go is when the cams are done.
