Ok, so this afternoon; honey, and I decided to take an impromptu trip to Manhattan from our home in Easton PA. No big deal, or so I thought. We hit Dunkin Donuts for a little travel fuel, and promptly jumped on Route 78 E, en route to the Short Hills train station. Maybe twenty miles out I started to notice a slight vibration in my truck; figuring it was nothing (perhaps a wheel weight flew off, etc) I continued on without much concern. Boy, was I wrong! Near the Whitehouse exit the vibration became much more pronounced, and accompanied by a subtle 'flapping' sound; I knew it was time to pull over to investigate. After scouting a safe place on the shoulder of the highway, I pulled over, and hopped out of the truck to see what was wrong. I was greeted by a rear tire that was peeling apart, i.e. de-laminating, wonderful. I just spent over a grand on these tires two months ago, and now this!? WTF!?

So, I proceeded to swap on the spare without dirtying myself; which was quite a challenge I might add, but through careful use of an old shirt I managed to get through the excercise without dirtying my clothes, or myself. Success! I pulled away, and made it to the train station just in time. The train ride was smooth, and we made it to Penn Station in probably 35 minutes. Upon arrival; my g/f was clinging to my arm like a toddler in a haunted house. Apparently she'd never been to NYC before (which was news to me), and was completely overwhelmed by the whole experience. The poor thing essentially had a mini panic attack on the street, totally serious! At this point I figured it would be best to take her to someplace calm, and mellow. Tribecca made the most sense to me, so I hailed a taxi, and directed the driver to Greenwich, and Vestry. This is where it really got good! Of all the taxis that I could've hailed; I picked one with a Pakistani Dale Earnheart at the helm! No, really. This guy was a total lunatic even by NYC taxi standards. He went the wrong way down a one way street, at like 50 mph, almost took off someone's door, and literally drifted the taxi through an intersection! True Story! This whole time my poor sweetie had a death grip on my leg, and was almost in tears. We somehow managed to arrive at our destination in one piece, and were practically kissing the ground as we exited that cab.

At this point my g/f is a 50/50 split of #totallymadbro, and #zomgimgonncrybaby. What's a guy to do at this point? Really?

Fortunately, we happened upon a great little Mexican restaurant, with an awesome bartender, and amazing food. We spent a couple hrs there, and I made sure she was boozed up enough to enjoy herself; all the while I nursed (1) Corona (as I had to drive a couple hrs later). Afterward, I took her to Times Square; so she could see #zomglights, etc

All in all, we had a great day

No JCP. I do keep a keen eye on Nordstrom though. There's a suit over there that I've been going back and forth on.

Speaking of sweet. How do I love Sweet Potato Fries. They need some salt but they are delicious. Sweet Potatoes mushed up (like the Thankgiving Slop, can still go fk themselves)

I'm not big on sweet potato fries although I'm coming around to sweet potatoes overall.

One way I do like sweet potato fries is to do a 50:50 mix of ketchup and sriracha. Definitely adds a nice element to the fries.

While I am on the subject, this will be right next to it on the shelf so just buy this too. I can't decide which one I like more.
