VW, BMW, Porsche and More Coming to Carlisle

Each year, the showfield at the Import & Performance Nationals features a different theme and different country. In 2016, the event will showcase German vehicles. Whether your German ride is new, old or somewhere in between, we'd love to have it at Carlisle in 2016. If you want to have your ride considered for the Invitational Display, click here for the Invitational application.

Right-Hand-Drive Cars on Display in May

With the expansion of event weekend, the invitational display features have been enhanced too. Coming to Building T in May, a special Right-Hand-Drive car display. The showcase hosts cars from both the European and Japanese import scene. RHD Vehicles provide a certain wow factor and considering that aside from your local mail carrier, you may not see one on a regular basis, this display should be one to check out for sure! Apply today and your RHD will be reviewed by the event managers for consideration. Good luck and we can’t wait to see your RHD in Building T Thursday-Sunday of Import & Performance Nationals weekend.

IPN Weekend Features a Shaved & Tucked Engine Bay Invitational

In recent years, the modern import market has been taking after popular trends within the hot rod market to make their engine bays look less cluttered with modern wires and electronics. Car owners and lovers alike have been flocking to a look known as shaving and tucking, a way to give their engine bays a sleek and clutter free presentation. Once complete, this essentially hides wire harnesses, coolant lines, brake lines and more under support rails, inner fenders and under radiator supports. Once wires and such are conveniently tucked away, welds and fills, combining with shaving down the area where holes used to be offer a perfectly clean canvas for additional customization, specifically a sleek and flashy paint job. Many top show cars in the modern import scene are going this way and if you come our way in May, you can see it all in person and learn more about the process.

This display is by invitation only, so please apply via this link. If selected, your car MUST be in Building T by Thursday evening and remain there until load out Sunday afternoon.

Experience Presented by Pennsylvania Hillclimb Association

The Import & Performance Nationals Race car Paddock is an annual highlight area of the Showfield and these vehicles will be treated as Invitational vehicles. That means you can display your race car at no charge! The Race car Paddock is reserved exclusively for imports, tuners and performance sport compacts that are set up for racing including road racers and autocross to drag and rally cars. See the cars as part of a true garage display within the pavilions on the east side of the grounds. Click here for the Invitational application

Traverse the Grounds and Win Prizes

More prizes are added each year as part of our Passport Program. To participate, all you need to do is walk the Showfield and look for the checkpoints. In your FREE event directory you’ll find a Passport insert that you can have stamped by the ambassadors for each country. Be Chosen as a Member of the Carlisle Elite on Friday

Carlisle Events' staff will be roaming the Import & Performance Nationals Showfield on Friday of event weekend in search of their ten favorite vehicles to become the newest members of the Carlisle Elite. To be picked for the Carlisle Elite, your car doesn’t have to be rare or a high dollar, professional restoration. In fact, the only real criteria is that it catches our collective eye. Make sure your car is registered and parked on the Showfield on Friday to be eligible.

Presented by (Nissan/Infiniti Car Owners Club), the largest and most comprehensive online resource for Nissan, Infiniti and Datsun enthusiasts once again is coming to Carlisle for their annual NICOfest at the Carlisle Import & Performance Nationals show. Their draw gets bigger and better each year and pulls attendees from the West Coast, Florida and Chicago. Reach out to NICO today to make 2016 even bigger and better.

Bragging Rights are Up for Grabs

No Carlisle event would be complete without the burnout contest. “Carlisle Burnout King (or Queen)” bragging rights are once again up for grabs! Pre-registration is required at Guest Services. A show sticker (i.e. registered for vending or showfield), driver’s license and proof of insurance are required. Participants are limited to 10 vehicles and 3 minutes per burnout.

How Low Does Your Ride Go?

With the lowest limbo, we’re taking a cue from the Caribbean on how we will determine the lowest car or truck at the show.
Instead of measuring from the driver door or the roof, we figure the best way to see who is lowest is to make them limbo. We will have a vehicle limbo bar set-up in multiple increments. Each car and truck must make their way under the bar without smoking tires and without knocking the limbo bar over. The last vehicle not to knock off the limbo bar wins!

Build Your Own with Help From the Experts

The Kit Car aspect of the weekend continues with a wide array of vendors and experts onsite to help you enhance or undertake your Kit Car project. Historically, these vendors would take up a portion of Building T, however, with the growth of the event, the Kit Car manufacturers are moving to Building Y, right across the road.

Additional spaces are available not only indoors, but outside of the building to meet demand. If spaces sell out in Building Y we will offer spaces in Building Z, under the main grandstand.
