Maybe I'm a dummy, but I kinda like the new Cruze. Especially the hatchback version. They have it priced too high though. I don't understand the logic behind marketing the hatchback as the premium model. Americans don't think like that.

You're not a dummy for liking the new Cruze, it's actually very good. As far as price, remember that American brands mark 'em up so they can mark 'em down.

Whoever that dumb lady is who thinks that's an $80K car has never been in an $80K. I wonder how many people they bring through to come up with those reactions

Because the hatchback says "young professional, business up front, party out the back!"

x2. I think it's a mistake for all these car ads to convey what amounts to an acknowledgement that they have a reputation for building garbage cars and that you'll be shocked when you find out this is a Chevy.

I like what he did with it, but in response to the original ad:

Chevy, I'm in your demographic for this ad and it made me cringe over and over again. Never seen something that reeked so heavily of "How are we gonna market this to 'millennials?'" in my life. Knock it off.

P.S. Is the "real people, not actors" disclaimer necessary? Their **** script delivery was a dead giveaway that they aren't actors.

I hate how they always try and make the people seem super shocked, also they always have some chick with big teeth over dramatic.

On a serious note- when they say "real people, not actors" in the ads, do we really believe them?
      Is that somehow legally binding?

As far as I know, yes they are real people. Not actors.

There was an interview with a guy who was in one of these. He said he didn't have any speaking lines but his wife did and now she brings in a decent chunk of change because of how much airtime they get.

I don't understand how, or if these commercials work.

I am a car guy, so I can't have a neutral opinion, but just like the Bostonian immediately said, "It's a Chevy Malibu." Even if you didn't know it was a Chevy, or a Malibu, I'd still guess it was an economy brand car, like Kia or Ford.

A mix between a Tesla and a BMW. GTFO.

      Classic European design. Again GTFO.

That **** pisses me off. The epic pandering is numbing. So much so, I don't want to listen to these people. It is like the, "Grounded to the ground" comment with Camry. No one says that ****, and because you guys said that I don't want a Camry anymore.

I wonder if its like those comedic street interviews ("What two sides fought in the Civil War?" "Uh, Spain?", etc...) . You film a bunch of groups in hopes that one of them says the things that they want on the air? I wonder how many get thrown out.

*If they know saying positive things will get their "performance" in an actual commercial and thus $$$$$, then how do these people not being actors make their "unbiased " opinions any more relevant?
It's a way to get a bunch of free actor takes, and you only pay for the ones you use.

Based on the "real people" reviews I have read for products and business online, I think I'll take actors reading scripts 1000x over knowing just how f#cling idiotic my fellow humans can be.

Seriously, there are people that think chicken fingers with ranch is the pinnacle of fine dining, and any fancy restaurant that lacks such divine options on their menu deserves 1 star ratings from everybody.
F#ck the opinions of real people.
