The polo is bada$$ drove one although i'm still not warm up to the idea that it only comes with a DSG.... that's my main gripe, not a stopper for me to buy it within the next year, the trunk size, that's the stopper got to figure out how to put all the stuff i need on the trunk, or find me a Baby Carrier and the polo for the week days when i'm not hauling the kid around.

I thought the 1.8T refresh added a manual.

See that big grill hanging out behind the cell phone holder? Probably doubles as some of the defrost vents.

How in the hell is this GTI badge whoring? This is a legitimate performance hatch, and it's the closest thing to the MKI GTI that we have (and will probably see in a long time).

You figure they would at least do better than the 125 hp the Lupo GTI had in 2001. Still a fan anyway though.

Looks ace, and I bet it's fun to drive too. Would be a cool city car.

Agreed; this is by far the best thing in in-car tech I've seen in years.

Montreal is a totally different demographic than the US market as a whole. If a larger percentage of North American tastes were similar to Montreal, VW would have brought both those cars here for sale.

you can get that same fuel gauge (and cluster!) in the Beetle. I had one and probably drove it closer to empty than any other car because of it even used roadside assistance for gas one time...

Point being. Big screens are here to stay. The Up is a small and cheap car and VW wanted a cheap infotainment solution for it.
The current generation A6 has a pop up screen and I believe the A8 does as well. I'm still trying to figure out whether that's a good thing or not because long-term it's a liability because you know that screen will eventually break..
