    Thread: I was Inverted.

    1. 05-19-2017 04:11 PM #1
Sipping coffee, reading some news this morning, came upon this article from BBC.

Two Chinese Sukhoi Su-30 jets have conducted an "unprofessional" intercept of a US aircraft, the US military said.
One of the Chinese jets came as close as 150ft (45m) to the US WC-135 plane and flew upside down above it, according to US officials cited by CNN.
The US says the plane was on a mission to detect radiation in international airspace over the East China Sea.
Tensions have repeatedly risen over US activity near the resource-rich international waters off China's coast.
      HE WAS INVERTED!

For real? Is this an actual thing, to fly upside down on planes like that, hahaha

Those planes are highly maneuverable, modern jet fighters.

So yes, inverted flight is very much a thing but nothing spectutur on its own. Doing it while intercepting a WC-135, yeah, that's something completely different..

      Keeping up foreign relations.

I read the news story about this yesterday and when I read "unprofessional" I jumped to Top Gun as well. Hilarious that that's really what happened.

Haha I know right, chances are pretty good the Chinese pilot watched top gun, and was like, once in a lifetime opportunity to give the bird to the Americans.

Man, I think I'd do it too. Haha

Don't we have F-22s stationed in HI and AK? Why not deploy a squadron to Japan?

A United States Navy spy plane on a routine surveillance mission near the Chinese coast collided on Sunday with a Chinese fighter jet that was closely tailing it. The American plane made an emergency landing in China, and the United States said it was seeking the immediate return of the 24 crew members, all said to be in good condition, and of the sophisticated aircraft and all its intelligence equipment.
Sounds like the tailgater got the airbrake check he deserved.
